There are so many options and lots of ways to find a local gardener or landscaping company. Google searches will produce the companies that have either paid Google to be seen or have enough credibility within the Google Algorithmic requirements that they make it into the search results. Keywords of course always help. What kind of gardening or landscaping services are you looking for?
If you live in an area with lots of gardening services, ask the people you see working in the gardens for a business card or take down the number off a truck. Companies are more likely to take clients closer in proximity because it is more efficient for scheduling work, saving money on hours on the road and gas. Ask friends and family. Word of mouth can give you a sense of the kind of character you may be hiring and other people’s experiences with them.
Of course, people who are kind, fair and responsible are always going to be talked about and suggested enthusiastically by their satisfied clients. They may or may not still be a good fit for you. Really know what you want and what you are looking for and what kind of relationship you want with the professional. If you want someone who comes and goes and is never seen, that is one type of company. If you want a gardener who is going to empower you to be able to take care of your own garden, call me. Although if you are far from me, the next best thing is to give them a call, talk to the sales, the owners, or the staff, Tell them what kind of services you are looking for, how often and what your garden’s goals are. Perfection or low maintenance or controlled chaos, whatever your flavor ask for help creating and maintaining that. If you don’t know, ask them for their opinion and the cost associated with the different options they suggest. Good way to sift through those companies that only want big number clients is to tell them your budget upfront.
